Rodi Garganico: how to get there and what to see

Rodi Garganico is one of the main tourist centers of the promontory, it is a white village perched among olive and lemon trees, overlooking and bathed by a particularly crystalline sea.

Rodi Garganico

How to get

  • By car: Coming from the north on the A-14 Bologna/Taranto motorway, exit at Poggio Imperiale – Rodi Garganico. If, on the other hand, you arrive from the south on the A-14 Taranto/Bologna motorway, exit at Foggia. Take the SS 89 to the crossroads for San Marco in Lamis, then continue towards Rodi Garganico. Finally, arriving from Naples via the A-16 Napoli/Canosa di Puglia exit at Candela. Take the SS 655 for Foggia and then the SS 89 up to the junction for Rodi Garganico.
  • By train: Destination S. Severo station where there is a connection for Rodi Garganico. Alternatively, arrive at Foggia station and take the SITA line bus.
  • By plane: The closest airports are Foggia and Bari, where you can choose to rent a car or use public transport.

What to see in Rodi Garganico

The first suggestion we want to give you is simple but valuable: walk around this village even without a specific destination. Let yourself be fascinated by the hand-decorated walls, the panoramic points and don’t forget to taste the limoncello produced on site.

From a historical point of view, you can visit the two towers of the Aragonese castle while from a religious point of view, it is important to know that Rhodes plays a central role. We therefore suggest you see: the Madonna della Libera church (which preserves the Venetian-Gothic painting of the same name dating back to the fifteenth century) and the churches of San Nicola di Mira, Santa Barbara and San Pietro.

Curiosity

The beaches of Rhodes have received the recognition of the Blue Flag and the 4 Legambiente sails, highly recommended if you are traveling with children.
