Before leaving for the holidays with your puppy, we want you to know all the beaches for dogs on the Gargano<\/strong>! In fact, traveling with your dog is a wonderful experience: sharing baths in the sea, rolling around in the sand, playing ball on the coast\u2026 when you get used to traveling together it becomes impossible to do without them.\r\n\r\nThis is why, for us at Home Gargano, it is so important that you know which beaches can welcome you and make you experience an unforgettable holiday. In this article you will find all the information you need, enjoy reading!\r\n

Holidays on the Gargano with the dog<\/h2>\r\nIf you have already gone on holiday with your dog, you will know that unfortunately not all areas of our beautiful country are ready to welcome our furry friends. Puglia and Gargano instead will surprise you! Many of the accommodation facilities have organized themselves to accommodate furry guests as well<\/strong>. There are hotels, restaurants, dog beaches and even some supermarkets!\r\n\r\nIn this article we will focus on the beaches but it is important that you know that in general coming to the Gargano with your dog is an experience as simple as it is beautiful<\/strong>. In particular, the Vieste<\/a> area has invested heavily in this type of tourism and it is estimated that 50% of the activities have adapted!\r\n\r\nIf you prefer to frequent bathing establishments<\/strong>, we have prepared an updated list, which you can find at the end of the article, with all the lidos that accept dogs. This list will always be updated as beaches that accept pets are reported to us.\r\n\r\nIf, on the other hand, you love isolated coves<\/strong>, free beaches and wild bays, well in that case you just need a few suggestions! A piece of advice as simple as it is precious that we would like to give you: prefer the low season<\/strong>. Generally until July the beaches of the Gargano are never crowded and the temperatures are pleasant.\r\n

Beaches for dogs: the importance of shade and seabeds<\/h2>\r\nA unique feature that will help you a lot on holiday with your dog is that the Gargano is full of sea caves often accessible from the beach and this can be an excellent shelter! The beaches with the high cliffs behind them are in the shade in the afternoon while those surrounded by the Mediterranean scrub offer shaded spaces<\/strong> where your dog can rest.\r\n\r\nThe Gargano has both long and sandy beaches with shallow waters that are perfect if your dog is not a skilled swimmer or doesn’t like water, and beaches with natural pools, cold water and deep waters that we feel we recommend if he is a swimmer skilled!\r\n

Dog Beaches from North to South<\/h2>\r\nIf you’ve never been there, we want to tell you how the shape of the Gargano coast changes so that you can more easily decide which area is right for you and your furry friend! Imagining traveling through the Gargano from north to south<\/strong>, the first town you come across is Rodi Garganico<\/a>, very suggestive and perched on the seafront. Here the seabed is shallow and the beaches are sandy. The water is clear but if you are looking for the crystal clear sea<\/strong> from Rodi you can take the ferry to the Tremiti Islands<\/a>, dogs are welcome, there are many wild coves and the sea is amazing!\r\n\r\nContinuing south, the second village you come across is Peschici:<\/a> simply wonderful. Built on a cliff overlooking the sea, it is a white and blue village. Here too the beaches are sandy with shallow waters and the water is clear. Vieste<\/strong> is certainly the tourist heart of the Gargano, here the local authority has really invested a lot to make the beaches (and not only) pet friendly so you will be spoiled for choice!\r\n\r\n\"dog<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFrom Vieste onwards the sea becomes more and more transparent until it becomes an emerald pool. Much of the coast is accessible by sea or through paths in the pine forest<\/strong>. There are many small and wild coves until you get near Manfredonia where a long, sandy coast opens up, easy to access at the expense of the water which loses its transparency.\r\n

Behavioral decalogue for beach dog (Puglia region)<\/h3>\r\nOnly dogs kept on a leash will be able to access the beach\u00a0duly registered in the canine registry<\/strong> (with tattoo or microchip), free from infestations<\/strong>\u00a0of fleas, ticks or other parasites, equipped with a\u00a0health booklet, collar with identification plate showing the\u00a0owner’s data.\u00a0The owners\/keepers must ensure that the animal cannot reach the subjects\u00a0neighbors. They must also take care of the shower, place a bowl with water<\/strong> that is always\u00a0present and accessible and ensure that the animal always has the possibility of taking shelter\u00a0in the shade.\r\n

Our suggestions<\/h3>\r\nIf it is the first time you experience a holiday with your dog, we want to give you some small suggestions given by the experience that we are sure will help you. Pack a backpack with all the things your furry friend needs so you never forget anything. In fact, it is very important that you always have a bottle of water and a bowl<\/strong> with you to make him drink at any time. Remember to bring toilet bags<\/strong> so as not to leave the magnificent areas you will visit dirty. Always carry the booklet with you\u00a0health and above all, if you come to the Gargano in the summer, remember to avoid the hottest hours<\/strong>. We humans do not often pay attention to the heat that reaches the asphalt, sand or rock in the central hours but for our friends it can be very dangerous as well as painful!\r\nHappy holiday!\r\n
