Coming from the South Tyrrhenian Sea, take the Candela exit and continue on the S.S.89.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>By train:<\/strong> Arrived at the Foggia station, take the local trains or buses of the Ferrovie del Gargano direct to Mattinata.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>By plane:<\/strong> From the \u201cPalese\u201d airport of Bari and from the \u201cG. Lisa\u201d in Foggia, take advantage of the services of the Ferrovie del Gargano, take a taxi or rent a car.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>What to see in the morning:<\/h2>\r\n<p>Mattinata is a small white village, <strong>built on the plain between<\/strong> <strong>Monte Sacro<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>Monte Saraceno<\/strong>. It is a very characteristic village, surrounded by olive trees and very close to the sea. <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.homegargano.com\/en\/discover-gargano\/the-beaches-of-gargano-caves-coves-and-cliffs\/baia-di-mattinatella-beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baia di\u00a0Mattinatella beach<\/a>is made of white pebbles, smoothed by the incessant motion of the sea, the water is crystal clear. Near Mattinata you can also reach <strong>Baia delle Zagare<\/strong> and the beach of <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.homegargano.com\/en\/discover-gargano\/the-beaches-of-gargano-caves-coves-and-cliffs\/vignanotica-beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vignanotica<\/a><strong>,<\/strong> which have become symbols of the Gargano in the world. It is a millenary forest, whose giant trees and numerous paths will make you spend an unforgettable day immersed in nature. Mattinata also enjoys a small port from which it is possible to leave for the Gargano coast. This is also the best way to explore the coast, as you reach all those coves that are not accessible by land.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Curiosity:<\/h3>\r\n<p>At the end of June, the<em> &#8220;gommonata del Gargano&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0(dinghy in the Gargano) is held, a nautical event that starts from Mattinata and touches the most beautiful places along the Gargano coast up to the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.homegargano.com\/en\/discover-gargano\/locality-of-the-gargano\/tremiti-islands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tremiti Islands<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mattinata is the white pearl of the Gargano.
