Wonder Woman on the beaches of the Gargano

Did you know that some scenes of the movie “Wonder Woman” were filmed on the beautiful and suggestive beaches of the Gargano, in Puglia? In Wonder Woman, Diana is represented on the shore of Pizzomunno beach. This beach is characterized by white cliffs and fine sand, it is about 3 km long and its scenic beauty has attracted Warner Bros Entertainment. The beach is known for the large limestone stack, from which it also takes its name. Its grandeur makes it the guardian of the area. There are many legends that refer to characters and creatures of Greek mythology that survive in this area, such as the story of Cristalda and Pizzomunno, which also inspired the singer Max Gazzè to create the song “The legend of Cristalda and Pizzomunno” presented at the Festival of Sanremo in 2018. Probably all this helped to inspire Warner Bros to shoot the scene of the Wonder Woman film on the beach of the Gargano.
